When it comes to getting around Goa, it becomes a bit difficult for people to travel.

GOA APP is here to help you with our short local travel guide. If you are unsure about which services are better suited to your needs, here are some basic things.

Hop in one of the Kadamba buses

From quite some time, the Kadamba Transport Corporation has started with air-conditioned buses that function from Dabolim airport to Panjim and Calangute routes, and back. The services are economical as compared to other means of transport.

Buses from Airport to Calangute start at 8.30 am, 1.30 pm, 2.30 pm, and 5.30 pm and will cost you rupees 160.

Beside Kadamba, there are local buses that stop anywhere and everywhere, even where there are no bus stop signs. You just have to wave out to them. Once you get in, wait for the conductor to come to collect the fare. There are seats reserved for ladies and senior citizens. The best part is, the bus fare is extremely cheap, below Rs. 1.5 per km! This might blow your mind! but if you are a student and if you have your university or college ID card you will be charged a half ticket ( if the full ticket is Rs 20, then you will be charged only Rs 10 ).

Kadamba with its very big bus network has non-stop buses to and from Panjim, Margao, and Vasco. They take around 90 minutes and are priced below Rs. 50. The fare for Panjim to Margao is Rs. 45. No seat reservations, No half ticket here though.

Taxi, a rip-off or not?

Taxis are one of the most expensive means of transport. With night charges before 7:00 am and after 7:00 pm around Rs. 300, a per Km charge of Rs. 26-60, it’s not really advisable to book a taxi. But of course, if you are looking to travel around Goa carefree ( relax !, you’re on holiday ) without any license or parking issues, then taxis are highly recommended.

Well, the best part is traveling to Baga, Calangute and Candolim are cheaper since these three locations are just 5 km away from one another. Great right?

Thumbs up for the four-wheelers…

The best way to get around Goa when in a group or family is in a rented car.  A car makes the journey easier, and pleasant, especially when it comes to traveling with kids. Booking a car on the GOA APP starts from Rs. 1000 and is much easier and reliable.
