The Rachol Fort is famous for its surroundings rather than its contents. Rachol has a number of historical monuments and heritage structures. This village is home to the Church of Our Lady of Snows (Igreja da Nossa Senhora de Neves), which is known as the Matriz of South Goa and is recognised as the first church of Salcete.
