Siridao beach Also known as the Shiridon this beach of North Goa is one of the most mesmerizing places to visit in Panjim.
Siridao Beach is a rocky beach popular for the mysterious caves, located at the mouth of Zuari River a few kilometers from Panjim in Goa. It is also known as "The Shell Collector's Beach" here you can find the most unique shells and a wide range of oysters and pearl shells. This beach sees a limited number of tourists. The view of the sunset from Siridao Beach is gorgeous. Siridao beach is located at a distance of 9 km from Panjim and about 27 km from Goa International Airport. One can take an auto or a cab or take a rented vehicle to reach Siridao Beach.
There is no particular time to visit this beach, one can visit any time of the year. To add up to the glam and charm of the Siridao Beach there is also a “Chapel of Jesus of Nazareth” atop a hillock that overlooks the magnificent coastline of Siridao Beach, giving travelers a breathtaking view of the alluring bay. Rife with ancient Portuguese architecture, this church sees many devotees come to relish the fantastic Easter feast held here. The beautiful Holy Souls Chapel, built-in 1973 by the famous Lucio Miranda is also situated in the Siridao village and definitely worth a visit. The entrance to the village is marked by the quirky figures of the three statues playing musical instruments with a dog. The tourists can also immerse themselves in the mysterious Siridao cave, a man-made cave carved from a single cell that dates back to the sixth or seventh century, revered by locals as part of their heritage.
