This church is dedicated to St. Lawrence the martyr or sao Lourenco, the patron saint of the poor and the cooks. It is built atop a hillock which overlooks the village. It is Built in exquisite Portuguese style architecture. It was built by jesuits. The village feast is held on August 10 every year. It is unique due to the coconut breaking competition held during the feast.
It is located 17 kms from Panjim and 22 kms from Margao.
